Clay Date - Alexandre Carvalho

Alexandre Carvalho is a multifaceted artist who excels in the field of ceramics and ceramic sculpture. Throughout his career, he has developed a deep knowledge of glazing, kiln construction and different firing techniques, including gas alternatives. At Clay Date, Alexandre shared his passion for Raku, an ancient technique that results in unique pieces, each with its own unique characteristics.

Alexandre’s studio, located in Trofa, is a true space for creation and learning. Through classes and workshops, he aims to pass on his knowledge to enthusiasts and aspiring ceramicists, fostering a collaborative and inspiring environment. His approach to teaching reflects the importance of experimentation and personal discovery in the creative process, allowing each student to develop their own style and technique.
